How to configure Ximian Evolution for Exchange Server 2003 using ximian-connector-setup-2.0
You have installed GNU/Linux on your machine and want to say good bye to Microsoft Outlook. This articles explains how to configure Evolution, a powerful mail client, to access you Exchange Server 2003 at your workplace. Here is the pictorial guide for the configuration using ximian-connector-setup-2.0 with Outlook Web Access URL.
Run this command in a xterm:
$ ximian-connector-setup-2.0
Click Forward and fill in the required information. OWA URL is your Outlook Web Access URL. Username should be in the format domain\username and password is your usual Exchange password. Click Forward. It will take a little time to authenticate with the server.
GC Server is your Active Directory Server which holds centralised Addressbook information. You might need to ask it's IP from your Windows Network/Servers Administrator. Just fill in the IP and click Forward.
If GC server also successfully authenticates the request, you should see the following screen with your information stored in GC Server. Verify it and go ahead.
Congratulations!! You have configured your Exchange account on evolution. Click Apply and fire evolution. It will ask you for your Exchange password and voila! You are in :-)
